A selected number of vegetables will be grown under shade netting
at the Experimental Farm of the University of Pretoria. At the Farm,
there are 10 shade net structures consisting of white, black, green
or orange netting with different percentages of light transmittance
(e.g. 10%, 40%, 70% shading). Growth and yield performance of the
vegetables grown under the various shade nets will be evaluated. Data
collected will be analyzed to determine the best color net and percentage
shade preference of the selected vegetables.
