We walk around on rocks and soil, and wherever we go, the rocks and
soils look different. Are they really?
The rocks are the starting point to form soil and this project will
investigate the relationship between different rocks, the climate,
and the soils formed from the rocks. We will investigate what the
building blocks of the rocks are and how the rocks can be characterized.
We will do the same thing for the soils that form from these rocks
and we will try to understand what stays the same and what changes.
These findings determine not only the quality, but also what possible
dangers lurk in the soil.
