Sara Shumway, U.S. Embassy in Pretoria
Sara Shumway works in Educational Outreach for the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in Pretoria. Together with her library science colleagues from the Embassy, she staffs the Mae Jemison U.S. Science Reading Room, in Mamelodi East. The Reading Room is a collaborative project between the U.S. Embassy and University of Pretoria. Approximately 150 secondary school students visit the Reading Room for regular science programming and homework assistance each afternoon after school.
