In Gr. 11, the equations
of motion are taught in science - usually
these are applied to boring examples. We are looking for a more
interesting example: Coke bottle rockets, which consist of a Coke
bottle, partially filled with water and compressed air.
We want to add a new dimension to Coke bottle rockets. We will build
a
professional launching system that will be able to launch the rocket
to
high altitudes. Using basic physical principles, we will build a
computer
model that will be able to predict the flight path of a rocket. Various
experiments will be performed to test and improve the model. Ultimately,
our aim is to use this model to refine the rocket to achieve the
maximum
altitude.
