Research Proposals for 2002 - Group D
The science of antibiotic drugs.
We plan to look into some generic antibiotics and to test them for purity and biological efficiency.
During this project the students will:
- learn chemical separation techniques in Chemistry and
- put up biological assays for drugs in Biochemistry.
There is a possibility that Microbiology will be included during the course of the year and that the learners will get a chance to perform some drug resistance tests (this must still be discussed with the department).
